This springs’ run of blustery north easterlies continued with tough conditions experienced by all the riders. Paul Astin recorded the fastest time yet again (after his marathon 170 mile ride 5 days ago).

Club 10 – Tuesday 22/05/18

A blustery evening with a N.N.E wind blowing at about 12-13 mph gave less assistance to riders on the outward leg than last week and seemed harder on the return due to the direction. As a result, times were pegged back up to a minute or more. Paul Astin again proved the class of the field returning a 21.35 in less than favourable conditions.

A warmer evening and a stiff north westerly tail-wind on the outward leg led to faster times than of late with everyone improving. Paul Astin led the field with his 20.47 (PB) and Deb Sheridan recorded a course PB with her 24.24.

Club 10 – Tuesday 08/05/18

More favourable conditions greeted the riders this evening with a brisk westerly breeze rather than the block southerly headwind as in previous weeks.  Martin Osman took over a minute off his time of last week to record the fastest time of the night, with some of the other riders improving between 2 and 3 minutes.

Unfortunately Luke and Joe missed turns on the course so did not complete. Better luck next time (we’ve all done it – at least I have !).

Club 10 – Tuesday 01/05/18

Six riders took the start for the first club 10 of the year (after two previous abortive attempts). A strong southerly headwind on the outward leg with rain affecting the road surface on the second lap led to predictably slow times with most riders agreeing the conditions were the hardest they had ridden on the course. Paul Astin took the win with an extremely creditable sub 23 minute ride.
