Further Roadworks

Mick Harborne has just reported that roadworks start on the A435 northbound on 2nd July for 5 nights, so back on the K36/10 again next week.

A very warm evening (27c) and a light north easterly breeze was spoilt only by the fact that we were yet again relegated to the K36/10 by ongoing roadworks on the A435.  Paul Astin was fastest with a 22.34.

K37/10P Roadworks

The Worcestershire roadworks map is now showing the end date for the work on the A435 as Tuesday 26th June, so there is a possibility that the dual carriageway will still not be available this week.

The K36/10 will be used again if the work is still in progress.

Due to roadworks on the K37/10P, tonights 10 was held on the K36/10 course. A healthy field of 14 braved the road surface and unhelpful north-easterly breeze with Paul Astin narrowly taking the win from Tim May by the smallest possible margin.

Club 10 – 12/06/18 – K36/10

Tomorrow nights’ 10 will be on the approved alternate course – K36/10. Sign-on will be at Wythall House at 18.15 but there is also usually signing on at the start.

Work was starting on the A435 at 8 o’clock this evening and it looks like a major re-surfacing job. I’ve had a word with the foreman and asked if he could flatten out the rise to Bransons Cross just a tad for me, he’ll see what he can do.

Roadworks on A435 w/c 11/06/18

Roadworks are commencing on the A435 southbound between the M42 island and Bransons Cross next week. Signs on the dual-carriageway state that this will be for 12 nights starting on Monday 11th June. According to https://worcestershire.roadworks.org the road will be closed from 19.30 each night. This site gives an end date of 6th July but that is probably for planning purposes.

An announcement will be made about club 10’s whilst the K37/10P is unavailable, but we do have the K36/10 as a back-up course.

A bright and less windy evening meant a healthier turn-out of riders this week. Conditions were still less than perfect with blustery sections on the course both ways with a moderate N.E. breeze. Martin Osman headed the field with a very decent 23.20 given the conditions.
